About Jacob Rosin
My Passion Is Helping People Overcome Barriers To Growth And Freedom
Deep down, all of us want to live a productive life with fulfilling relationships. Yet there are so many factors that prevent us from achieving these goals. Many of us carry emotional wounds from previous relationships and traumatic experiences that leave us unable to feel present in our lives. Anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions have a way of clouding our perspective and telling us that our goals are unattainable.
As a therapist, I seek to help my clients achieve a healthier perspective and deepen their sense of self-worth so that they can live a more empowered life. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. The ultimate goal of therapy is to assist people in creating a purpose-driven life through self-acceptance and recognition of their intrinsic needs and values.
My Background And Experience Serving People From All Walks Of Life
I have been practicing in the field of psychology since 2005 and have decades of experience working in a variety of clinical and institutional settings. I’ve worked with children in foster care, adolescents in the juvenile justice system, and adults in prison community mental health settings. I’ve served both adolescents and adults in outpatient, group practice, and private practice settings.
Having worked with so many different populations, I’m able to relate to people from all walks of life. My experience gives me a deeper appreciation for the human condition and a greater understanding of the joys and sorrows that we all share. It makes it easier to relate to all clients—no matter their age, their background, or their struggles.
For what it’s worth, I am also very involved in the metro Detroit music scene as a reflection of the importance of self-expression. My musical background gives me the ability to relate to many artists and people who value creativity as an integral part of the healing process.
My Counseling Philosophy Is Rooted In The Power Of Relationships
Everything in counseling is based on the connection facilitated by the therapeutic relationship. After all, we are relational creatures—healing takes place in the context of relationships, not in isolation. When you have someone that you can open up to freely and without any fear of judgment, life-changing work can happen.
This is why I seek to connect with my clients on a deeply personal level. I am more interested in the client’s story than their pathology. By entering into that story and immersing myself in their world, I can explore their needs, values, and goals on a deeper level. This work forms the basis of a journey that the client and I go on together. Instead of leading the client, the two of us walk side by side and come up with solutions collaboratively.
If you want to take that journey with me, I encourage you to reach out. I hope to model the type of growth that facilitates greater understanding and helps you connect to your fullest potential.
